I have worked as a paediatric Dietitian for over 20 years and am a registered member of the British Dietetic Association and Health Care Professions Council.

 

Within the NHS I have been working at Southampton Children’s Hospital (University Hospitals Southampton NHS Trust) as a Specialist Paediatric Dietitian within the Paediatric Gastroenterology team. I have specific expertise in inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal failure, coeliac disease, gut allergies and faltering growth. I am also passionate about my work within a unique feeding clinic where, as part of a multidisciplinary team, we aim to establish eating in children with highly complex needs.

 

As well as my day to day work, I have written chapters on these topics in the Oxford Handbook of Paediatric Gastroenterology and recently been Chair of the Associate group of BSPGHAN  (British Society of Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition).

 

I have had previous experience and expertise in sports nutrition working with individuals, groups and county squads born out of my own interest in sport, fitness and health. In my spare time, I am very keen on health and fitness. I am an active member of my local running club regularly taking part in 5K, 10K and half-marathon events and have been lucky to secure a place for the London Marathon. I am also a keen sailor which I enjoy doing with my family. As a family we also like to travel with our old Volkswagen campervans.
